how do we teach skin rejuvenation?

Skin Rejuvenation is an advanced topic to teach and learn, so we have broken it down into a series of blocks for individual topics, these contain a theory online module with the essential knowledge you require on the topic, some topics then follow with a practical workshop. Block 1 is compulsory to complete, then you can pick and choose a topic or topics to study.

What will you learn

In this Mini Mods® Online course you will learn the theory and required teachings on Vascular Skin Conditions, including the underpinning treatment science principles and client care information for operators of IPL or Lasers, so that you can then commence practical training with us. Your learner outcomes for Skin Rejuvenation Block 4 are:

  • How to gain confidence in talking to clients about the type of lesions they may have, and why a referral to a Skin Specialist may be required

  • Be able to identify contraindications for each type of light-based therapy and recognise when a person may be deemed unsuitable, or at higher risk for treatment

  • Be able to outline common goals and challenges of treating unwanted Vascular Skin Conditions with Cosmetic IPL / Laser Treatments

  • Be able to establish where unwanted Vascular concerns, presented by clients, sit in the skin

  • Know how to analyse a client photo skin type for suitability of treatments and question the risks involved

  • Recognise the importance of skin checks and how to protect clients from accidental lesion removal during light-based treatments

  • Understand and describe the differences in lesion terminology

  • Identify how targeting works for Lasers and IPL filters are used in vascular treatment

  • Apply treatment techniques to treat vascular concerns on the face using Laser

  • Explain post-treatment care advice

  • Recognise IPL & Laser endpoints for Vascular

  • Understand how to manage a client’s discomfort / pain associated with IPL & Laser Treatments (pain scale, cooling, what can be altered

  • Know how to implement a test patch for Vascular treatments with IPL / Laser

  • Understand how- to cooling techniques for light-based services are applied

  • Prepare for attending the required practical instructional training using IPL and or lasers
